If you dig a little deeper you get intoI agree with Annie it depends on what you are juicing, it should always be 70/30 in favour of vegetables.
If you dig a little deeper you get into soluble and insoluble fibre, different fruits and vegetables have varying amounts of each and both kinds of fibre regulate blood sugar but in different ways.
Although juicing removes the insoluble fibre that we associate with the kind that draws water to the stool and improves transit through the bowel, insoluble fibre helps us feel fuller too which perhaps stabilises our eating and hence blood sugar.
Soluble fibre remains after juicing and this forms a kind of gel when it dissolves in fluids. This gel slows the emptying of our stomachs, stops food rushing through the intestines and crucially it stops the carbs(glucose) from being rapidly absorbed in the intestines and causing a ‘sugar spike’.
The first juice we are taught in clinic of carrot, apple and bit of ginger is a brilliant example of soluble fibre at its best 👍🏻 Getting the carrot to apple ratio right is important as Annie was pointing out.
Smoothies or juices it’s what you use.
Juices will hit the blood stream quicker which is no doubt the concern but to be anti juicing for that reason is simplistic I think. What are you juicing and how much matters.
Adding cinnamon will stabilise blood sugar too.

If diabetes is on the cards then remember the pancreas has an endocrine and exocrine function. If it’s not working properly then it’s because it needs to rest and providing the body with plenty of enzymes is going to be equally as important as minding the glycemic index in my opinion.
I’d go mostly smoothie with some juice Sylvia 👍🏻

Is Asthma related in some way to the kidneys , especially if it is onset as an Adult and certain foods cause an attack - im looking for the emotional side to this

    • Asthma is usually related to am over-reactive immune system which responds excessively to a pathogen.
So the lower the chronic inflammation in theAsthma is usually related to am over-reactive immune system which responds excessively to a pathogen.
So the lower the chronic inflammation in the body, the less recurrent or strong an episode can be.
In fact, asthma rarely goes on its own and is many times accompanied by skin reactions of some kind, again to show the over-reactivity of an immune system
Kidneys would be involved as main eliminative organs from a physiological perspective.
So the more toxin burden can be removed, the better the kidneys will function, the more the body's response would settle. (We see that a lot with skin disorders too, right? You cleanse the body, liver and kidneys and skin reactions tend to settle.)

There is a connection between kidneys and lungs not only physiologically (agents released by the lungs can affect the kidneys and vice versa. You often see people with kidneys infection often presenting a lung infection first or people with kidneys cancer developing a secondary lung cancer), but also energetically.
In TCM for instance, the breathing is a lung function but it is for the kidneys to "grasp the qi" and you also have the so called "kidneys breathing".

So fear and grief are the first emotions to look for.
Fear (held in the kidneys) stops your breathing, makes it shallow.. Grief or deep feeling of pain are stored in the lungs and they take away the primal energy force, the "zest for life", which, also according to the TCM ( they call it ''primordial qi) it is stored in the kidneys.
Those are the connecting dots between the two organs.

I wouldn't say it stems from those organs as such. Eczema usually is a skin attempt to get rid of an overload of toxins in the lymphatic system and liver, which, as a consequence makes the immune system more erratic and over-reactive.
Then of course if the lymphatic system and liver are congested and the body tries its best to get rid of that burden, but gets pumped with more toxins through dietary errors (dairy is a big no in this instances) and mucus forming foods, then of course lungs and kidneys (and all other organs) will be also affected.

They are mostly used in teas and powders ( called churna), which are mixed with milk, honey or ghee according to the dosha imbalance treated.
So, if consuming Tulsi, I would just follow the Ayurvedic tradition of chewing fresh leaves, or juicing them or drinking it as tea. Otherwise Tulsi churna in some hot water.

Just a thought: A person i know who has had varicose veins in one leg for years without any issues, pain etc now suddenly has pain on a particular area where there is a varicose vein, (back of calf) they are using cayenne on a regular basis also garlic daily, if anything the diet has improved and they are not standing as much as they used to be ( standing 8hrs a day at work previously) they use ice bath daily and use inversion table, drink herbal teas, dont drink or smoke , no dairy not much meat etc - as i say lifestyle dramatically improved but my thought it , if the circulation is starting to work better , with the cayenne etc would it be trying to pump blood through this vein which maybe before this didnt have as much force coming through it and is that why the pain is being experienced ? Also has daily smoothies with berries and beetroot with blood cleansing , bowels open at least 3 times per day , water has always being 3 if not more litres per day

IAlso would be worth looking at both macro and micro circulation so supporting the heart as well as micro circulation (where Gotu kola plays a key.
I think horsechestnut is a great help topically in sitz baths or ointment.
Lymphatic and eliminative would also help by respectively supporting lymph movement and removing toxins (often fluid accumulation can be associated to heart and poor circulation).
So kidney support with goldenroad, nettle, dandelion infusions.
Burdock root would be good too in a decoction.
Not sure whether you can prescribe tinctures or herbal protocols yet, but if not, these are all herbs that can be bought as tea bags easily xx
